Currently, public awareness regarding the food they consume is increasing due to contamination in all aspects of life that continues to rise, especially in the aspect of food. In addition, increasing knowledge of the need for healthy food makes many people selective in choosing their daily intake. One way is by consuming organic food materials.

Organic food materials or organic food ingredients are food ingredients produced through organic farming or animal husbandry methods. In order to be labeled organic, a food product must be free of all harmful chemicals by not using synthetic materials such as pesticides and chemical fertilizers on crops, inject antibiotics/hormones on livestock, or additives such as MSG, preservatives, or artificial sweeteners.

The survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in June 2016 revealed that out of 1,480 adults in the United States, 55% of respondents believed that organic products are healthier than conventionally grown products. 3% said that conventionally grown products are better. 41% stated that there is no difference in terms of nutritional content between organic and conventional/inorganic products.

However, compared to conventionally grown food products, some organically grown products do not have pesticide residues.

Choosing organic products not only has a positive impact on health, but also helps to maintain environmental balance. Starting from the organic farming process, soil maintenance, the use of manure, to water irrigation are carefully considered to maintain quality. Indirectly, organic agricultural products can also become environmentally friendly sustainable products.
